1. Slim Pickins Outfitters
Slim Pickins Outfitters is the first Black owned gear shop. Slim Pickins sells quality outdoor goods to inspire adventure and curiosity while protecting against the elements. Jahmicah Dawes started the brand to address the disparities between outside gear and the Black community. He strives to build not just a brand, but a community. You can find the outerwear brand here:
2. Pyer Moss
Pyer Moss was started in 2013 by Kerby Jean-Raymond who became the first Black designer to debut his fashion collection at his Parisian fashion show. A cross between an “art project” and a “timely social experiment” as described by Jean-Raymond, he wants to use the brand to evoke social dialogue. 3. Confetti

4. Martine Rose
The Martine Rose collection was established in 2007 by CEO and namesake herself, Martine Rose. She was inspired by her Jamaican-British heritage with the music and cultures of London. The brand revolves around family and community. You can find Martine Rose at https://martine-rose.com/
5. Studio189
Studio189 was cofounded by Rosario Dawson and Abrima Erwiah. The lifestyle brand offers deconstructed, yet lightweight trench coats and capes made from locally sourced materials with all natural dyes.
